David P. Rankin, P.A.
Experienced Tampa Real Estate and Administrative Law Attorney
David Rankin is the founder and principal attorney at the Law Offices of David P. Rankin, P.A., a Tampa-area law firm providing legal advice and technical assistance in commercial and residential real estate transactions throughout Hillsborough County and surrounding areas, and providing representation in administrative proceedings for licensed professionals in Florida statewide.
Mr. Rankin graduated high school from Colegio Nueva Granada, a bilingual private college preparatory school in Bogota, Colombia. He completed his undergraduate studies at Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, where he was Captain of the soccer team, before attending the University of Florida College of Law, where he earned his Juris Doctor law degree. He was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1978.
Upon entering the legal profession, Mr. Rankin went to work as a prosecuting attorney for several years at the State Attorneys Office in Hillsborough County. Following his stint as a prosecutor, Mr. Rankin entered private practice, where he became one of the attorneys to whom the Department of Professional Regulation (now the Department of Business and Professional Regulation) referred cases for prosecution. Mr. Rankin prosecuted disciplinary proceedings of licensed professionals for several years before deciding to devote his practice to the representation of individuals in administrative proceedings, while also maintaining an active real estate law practice.
Mr. Rankin is an active and dedicated member of the legal profession and the community which he serves. He is a member of the Florida Bar and Carrollwood Community Bar Association. Mr. Rankin is a former Chair of the Cheval Homeowners Association and the Cheval Community Development District. He is also a former Chairman of the Board at the Lions Eye Institute for Transplant and Research in Tampa and currently serves on its Executive Committee. Mr. Rankin is also President of American Patriot Title.
